Neuropsychologist, Psychologist

Dr. Beatriz Amador is a licensed psychologist and neuropsychologist who specializes in neuropsychological and psychological evaluations of clients of all cultural backgrounds and diagnoses. She is the founder of Amador Neurobehavioral Consultants. She specializes in the assessment of cognitive functioning among individuals with varying neurological, neurodevelopmental and psychiatric conditions. She has extensive experience evaluating individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias, Traumatic Brain Injury, Mild Traumatic Brain Injury (Post-Concussive Syndrome, Epilepsy, Parkinson’s disease, Cerebrovascular Accidents, Learning Disorders, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Intellectual Disability, and other cognitive problems that may be associated with psychiatric conditions. She obtained her doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology with a concentration in Neuropsychology from Albizu University in Miami, Florida. As part of her training Dr. Amador completed a one-year pre-doctoral clinical internship in Neuropsychology and Rehabilitation at NYU Mount Sinai School of Medicine, Mount Sinai Hospital Department of Rehabilitation Medicine in New York, New York where she received training in neuropsychological assessment, rehabilitation psychology, as well as individual and group cognitive remediation techniques. Subsequently, she completed a one-year post-doctoral Psychology residency at Citrus Health Network in the Outpatient Psychotherapy Rotation where she conducted individual psychotherapy with children, adolescents, adults, and older adults with varying psychiatric conditions.

Former clinical experiences include a one-year neuropsychology externship at Jackson Memorial Hospital – Ryder Trauma Center Neuropsychological and Rehabilitative Services. A neuropsychology externship atMount Sinai Medical Center, University of Miami, Psychological and Neuropsychological Services, and a one-year psychology externship at Jackson Medical Center, Division of Psychology. Dr. Amador has extensive experience in working in both inpatient, acute and outpatient settings with individuals with varying neurological conditions including traumatic brain injury, Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias, cerebrovascular accidents, spinal cord injury, and other neurological and medical conditions. Since completing her formal training, she has worked in a variety of medical settings including the Wien Center for Alzheimer’s Disease and Other Dementias at Mount Sinai Hospital in Miami Beach, Florida, Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood, Florida providing hospital-wide consultations and at Memorial Regional Rehabilitation Hospital South providing consultations to patients with traumatic brain injuries and other neurological disorders. Dr. Amador works closely with other medical professionals in the community to provide the best care possible to patients. Dr. Amador is fully bilingual in English and Spanish and is able to evaluate individuals in both languages.
